Each year the women of Oregon churches work together to provide the household equipment budget for our Oregon AG foreign missionaries. This year the women were able to provide all the funds for our missionaries who were home for their year to raise support, except for the Annear family. After an emergency plea went out to all the churches and minister's wives the offerings came in before our Network Conference, May 7 and we were able to present $6,500 to Monte and Melanie Annear, first term missionaries. They are packing up to leave this summer and we are so pleased to send them off with all their household funds. Now we are ready to receive funds for this year's group of Oregon missionaries who are eager to raise their additional support and get back to the mission field.
Many of the missionaries that you see on this year's L.I.F.E. project poster will be returning to the field soon and we need to send them their promised support before they leave. Rose Room Brochure Women's Missions Brochure Ladies Investing For Eternity - (L.I.F.E.) The ladies of the local churches raise funds that supply our missionaries with their household budget. When they are home once every 5 years itinerating they must raise an amount of cash set by the Assemblies of God World Missions Department. This amount is used to set up their home when they arrive on the field. It usually purchases cupboards, large appliances, furniture, plumbing fixtures, or anything that is needed to make a home livable. Because we have committed to raise this money for the missionaries, the amount they must raise from offerings at their weekly services in local churches is reached sooner. As Oregon women raise these funds, their local church sends the offerings to the Oregon Ministry Network office marked as L.I.F.E. offering. L.I.F.E. Fund Raising Resources Oregon Women's Ministries offers a coin card that will hold $5 worth of quarters in little pockets. This is an easy way for a lady to save her change to give in the offering to L.I.F.E. They may be requested for 5 cents each.
